Regardless of the purpose of your stay (i.e., holiday, family visit, business meeting) you will have to apply for a short stay visa in Holland, which also allows you visa-free access to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schengenvisainfo.com\/schengen-visa-countries-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Schengen area<\/a>, a border free area of countries in the EU and EEA. You can apply for a one entry or a multiple entries short visa for a maximum of 90 days. In case of multiple entries, the 90 day stay can be spread over a maximum of 180 days.<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>What you need to apply<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">You can apply for a short stay visa at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.government.nl\/topics\/embassies-consulates-and-other-representations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dutch representation<\/a> in your country\/region. When you apply, you need to submit the following:<\/p>\n<ol dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>A copy of a travel document valid for 3 months after the end of the short stay visa period.<\/li>\n<li>2 passport photos that meet the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.government.nl\/topics\/identification-documents\/documents\/leaflets\/2015\/01\/21\/photomatrix-guidelines-2007\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dutch passport photo requirements<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Documents that show your travel purpose.\n<ul>\n<li>In case of a <strong>business trip<\/strong>, an invitation for a meeting, training, cultural or sports event, diplomatic or political visit, or exhibition, conference, or seminar that takes place in the Netherlands. You may also show an invitation of an organization (which does not need to be Dutch) to join activities that take place in the Netherlands.<\/li>\n<li>In case of a <strong>holiday<\/strong>, a reservation for an accommodation like hotel or hostel.<\/li>\n<li>When a <strong>visiting family or acquaintances<\/strong>, your host must fill out the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/ind.nl\/Formulieren\/1310.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Proof of sponsorship and\/or private accommodation form<\/a>\u201d and sign with a signature that is legalized by the host&#8217;s municipality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of sufficient financial means. Your financial means are regarded to be sufficient if you have at least \u20ac55.00 per person per day for your planned duration of stay. You can either show to possess this amount <strong>yourself<\/strong> (e.g., bank statement), or you can ask a <strong>sponsor in the Netherlands<\/strong> to be financially responsible for you. Your sponsor needs to fill out and legalize the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/ind.nl\/Formulieren\/1310.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Proof of sponsorship and\/or private accommodation form<\/a>\u201d. If your sponsor is married, the sponsor\u2019s spouse must sign the form as well. Your sponsor needs to have <a href=\"https:\/\/ind.nl\/en\/Pages\/required-amounts-income-requirement.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sufficient and long-term income<\/a> and proof this with a labor contract, 3 most recent salary slips, and an employer\u2019s declaration in case of paid employment. For the self-employed, proof of registration with the Chamber of Commerce, most recent tax administration assessment, and a recent profit and loss overview. Alternatively, if you are invited for <strong>business purposes<\/strong>, the hosting company or organization can undertake responsibility for all the costs during your stay in the Netherlands (i.e., plane ticket, hotel, transportation).<\/li>\n<li>A copy of medical travel insurance on your name, that covers repatriation, urgent medical care, and urgent hospital treatment in the Netherlands and the Schengen area for the minimum amount of \u20ac30.000. Such insurance may be organized by yourself or if relevant, by your sponsor or hosting company\/organization.<\/li>\n<li>Documents that proof <a href=\"https:\/\/script_transfer_new.mowfns.ap-southeast-2.wpstaqhosting.com\/en\/center-of-life-in-israel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">your attachment to your country of origin<\/a> and show that you have enough reason to return to your country of origin. For example, you may submit an employer\u2019s declaration, a proof of school enrolment for your school-aged children, or proof of ownership of private property.<\/li>\n<li>A return ticket or reserved return ticket can be included in the application, but you can also show it when you pick up your short stay visa if you are granted one.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Receiving your visa<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs will review your application and may consult with the Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND). If the application is reviewed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs only, you will receive a response within 15 days. When consultation with the IND is needed, receiving a response may take up to 45 days. Upon approval, you can pick up your short stay visa at the Dutch representation in the country you applied in. The short stay visa will be placed in your travel document as a sticker. The short stay visa fee is \u20ac80 for adults and \u20ac40 for children between 6 and 12 years old. You do not have to pay a fee for children below 6 years old.<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Urgent visa<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If a first or second-degree family member in the Netherlands is terminally ill or passed away, you can request an urgent visa to visit the Netherlands. Said family members include; a parent, child, sibling, grandparent, brother-\/sister-\/son-\/daughter-\/parent-in law, or stepparent, stepchild, stepbrother, or stepsister. Unlike the short stay visa, the urgent visa only grants access to the Netherlands and not the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schengenvisainfo.com\/schengen-visa-countries-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Schengen area<\/a>. A family member in the Netherlands must <a href=\"https:\/\/ind.nl\/en\/contact\/Pages\/contact.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">call<\/a> the Immigration and Naturalization Services (IND) to start the application. Of the documents needed for a short stay visa as mentioned above, you only need the following documents to apply for a short stay visa: a valid travel document, evidence of sufficient financial means, and proof you will return to your country of origin.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Are you ready to take off to the Netherlands for a short visit?
